Serco-NA has an opening for a Junior Business Financial Manager (BFM) to support an active contract with the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area. SIT Lead, you will be on a dynamic team providing technical and programmatic support to the U.S. Navy's Next Generation Attack Submarine Program Office (PMS351) at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC! Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on our military defense and safety of our sailors.
This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and/or maintain an active U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance
Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Team Submarine SHAPM contract supporting the acquisition of submarines. PMS351 is the acquisition program office for the design and development of Attack Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of SSN(X), the U.S. Navy's future class of nuclear attack submarines. The Junior BFM will support the 351A2 Assistant Project Manager (APM) for Budget and the 351A Principal Assistant Project Manager (PAPM).

In this role, you will:
- Assist in analyzing funding levels, including benchmark and plan comparisons, and support preparation of data for Quarterly Financial Reviews (QFRs).
- Support financial data analysis using existing systems (e.g., NEPS, financial trackers) and assist in maintaining financial records as directed.
- Assist in processing financial transactions and documentation related to funding actions across supported organizations.
- Support evaluation of financial data related to task proposals and assist with monitoring financial performance against established plans.
- Perform basic analysis in support of Cost Change Analysis Reports (CCAR) and other financial reporting requirements.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing financial data calls and supporting documentation under supervision.
- Analyze monthly expenditure reports to identify variances and assist in preparing summary findings and recommendations.
- Prepare financial reports, documentation, and correspondence in support of stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and consistency with financial practices.
- Assist in identifying financial risks and variances and support the development of mitigation recommendations.
- Perform other financial analysis and reporting duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- An active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or other related field.
- An excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Time management skills.
- A proven excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to multitask effectively.
- The ability to use Microsoft Office packages effectively.
- The ability to be flexible both in relation to job-specification and schedules.

Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience with financial analysis, development of Statement of Works, and contracts.
- Working knowledge of the NEPS financial tracking system.
- Ability to understand and succinctly summarize, communicate, and document financial issues.
