Your role and responsibilities
The Assistant Contractor Special Security Officer (A/CSSO) plays a vital role in supporting the secure, compliant, and effective delivery of IBM security services for the U.S. Government and other highly regulated clients. Operating at the intersection of security, service delivery, and client engagement, this position partners closely with internal stakeholders to ensure federal security requirements are consistently met and operational risks are proactively managed.
This role works in close collaboration with the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), providing essential support in maintaining compliance with regulatory and contractual security requirements.
As a U.S. Government Security Professional, you will contribute to multiple aspects of IBM's U.S. Government (USG) Corporate Security Program, helping to safeguard people, property, and sensitive information. You will support leadership in identifying risks and implementing measures to protect critical assets.

Required technical and professional expertise
• Support Security Policy Development: Some experience with developing and implementing government security policies and procedures • Physical Security Measures: Some experience with designing and implementing ICD 705 physical security measures
• Clearance processing experience. and support of personnel security requirements
• Security Education and Awareness: Experience in supporting security awareness to promote best practices throughout an organization
• Must have an active TS/SCI with Full-scope poly
Preferred technical and professional experience
• COMSEC experience
• SCIF building expertise

You will support leadership in identifying risks and implementing measures to protect critical assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce and deliver training on security policies to ensure a safe and compliant environment for both client and IBM information
- Serve as a backup security point of contact for assigned government client programs
- Support incident management activities, including response coordination and development of mitigation strategies in partnership with the CSSO
- Assist in the oversight and implementation of ICD 705 standards and customer-specific security requirements
- Provide after-hours alarm response support (must reside within a 45-minute commute of the work location)
- Support personnel security processes, including clearance processing and visit certifications
