Overview
Northrop Grumman is expanding its Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) capability for the U.S. Army in the rollout of IBCS capability to its warfighters. Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to serve as a Major End Item (MEI) Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead and own the execution synchronization of the MEI across all program requirements, delivering a producible, testable product that maintains configuration integrity from engineering through sustainment. The MEI will work closely with engineering discipline department leads, Business Area Leads, and other MEI Leads to plan and drive development, ensuring requirements driven end items that serve the IBCS system of systems solution. The MEI IPT Lead's team will be comprised of members assigned to the IPT from various functional organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated MEI execution - End-to-end ownership of the MEI integration across all IBCS programs, working under consultative direction for ensuring producibility, testability, and configuration integrity across functional, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.
Systems Thinking: Ability to view the hardware end item as an interconnected system at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and sustainment, understanding how subsystems interact and impact overall performance, reliability, and lifecycle
Hardware Configuration Management: Working knowledge of tracking and controlling changes to hardware baselines inclusive of changes to active production baselines, ensuring traceability, version control, and compliance throughout development and production.
Cross-functional alignment - Participate in cross-functional alignment for the IPTs, engineering disciplines, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.
Facilitation of IPT Forums: Co-lead formal IPT forums with documented charters and conflict-resolution processesFirst-line conflict resolution - resolving IPT conflicts before escalation.
Lifecycle readiness - Under consultative direction from senior engineering staff, ensure MEI readiness across concept, development, production, and sustainment phases
Product-level trade space - Participate in trade studies for design changes, capability enhancements, and RCCA actions; to frame decision options as trade-backed recommendations (cost, schedule, technical).
Baseline alignment - Keep technical and production baselines aligned; manage integration impacts of design, make/buy/where decisions, manufacturing, test, and sustainment.
Status reporting - Work with other IPT Leads to provide consolidated MEI-level status, risk, and performance metrics, across programs
Risk & RCCA support - Identify MEI-level risks; support RCCA and CCB discussions as the product authority.
Continuous improvement & affordability - Lead initiatives to improve MEI affordability and performance

Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 12 yrs experience, Master's degree with 10 yrs, or Ph.D. with 8 yrs).
- Recent experience leading RCCA activities, implementing severity-based escalation triggers for immediate RCCA action.
- 5 years applying Agile/Scrum methods and Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA).
- 5 years experience interfacing with customer stakeholders, presenting complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
- 5 years editing and/or reviewing engineering artifacts (SEMP, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Test Plans, Defect Reports, Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), Return to Green (RTG) plans).
- 3 years leading cross-functional teams to meet execution goals, demonstrating work with a Configuration Manager to align mBOM/eBOM across product baselines.
- Must be able to communicate and collaborate with all levels of program leadership/managers, Senior engineers, and customers.
- Must be able work Full-time, in-office with standard Northrop Grumman office hours; flexibility for program milestones.

Preferred Skills & Experience
- Strongly prefer a STEM degree in Systems Engineering or a related field (B.S. 12 yrs experience, M.S. 10 yrs, or Ph.D. 8 yrs).
- 5 years of Leadership of cross-functional teams to meet execution goals.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for requirements traceability.
- Strong analytical skills for trade-study development and risk-opportunity management.
- Weapon-system integration experience; experience with DO-178C, MIL-STD-882 or similar standards; hardware design and integration; Design-of-Experiments and Design-for-X techniques
