Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• 5+ years of combined experience in aerospace/defense engineering, proposals, or technical programs
• Hands-on engineering background with ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical data
• Experience leading or owning proposal efforts within a government or defense contracting environment
• Strong technical writing experience supporting compliant proposals
• Comfort working cross-functionally without direct reports
• Experience supporting cost, schedule, and technical inputs across varied programs
• Experience working with unstructured data and reporting systems.
• Experience with DFARS, government proposal compliance, or regulated defense environments
• Exposure to both R&D-driven and production-based proposal environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Background transitioning from an engineering role into proposal engineering or capture support
• Experience presenting proposals or technical packages to senior leadership or customers

Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Lead Proposal Engineer who owns the end-to-end execution of complex aerospace and defense proposals, serving as the central coordinator across engineering, operations, program management, and leadership. This role leads the overall proposal effort assembling technical content, ensuring compliance, and integrating inputs from chief engineers, technicians, and internal subject matter experts. The Lead Proposal Engineer performs a significant portion of the technical writing, interfaces with internal stakeholders to translate engineering concepts into compliant proposal language, and ultimately assembles and presents the final proposal package, occasionally at the executive or CEO level. Depending on site assignment, the role may support highly R&D-driven, first-time designs or more production-oriented proposal efforts, requiring adaptability across varied program types and customers.
Pay Range: $120,000 - $160,000
