Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing mishap trends and other safety data, conducting inspections, and reviewing subordinate command self-assessments; 2) Establishing required correction actions to reduce mishaps; 3) Researching and providing advice on recommendations to correct, eliminate, or better control hazards associated with a broad range or work processes, equipment operations, and protective devices in order to minimize injury to personnel; 3) Interpreting and applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, standards, procedures, and abatement measures to manage an Occupational Health Program; and 4) Planning organizing, directing, executing, and evaluating a comprehensive safety program.

The work is primarily performed in an office setting; however, the safety and occupational health manager may be exposed to operating industrial machinery and equipment, toxic chemicals, fumes, and material handling activities during occasional inspections and development and evaluation of hazard controls. Personal protective equipment may be required.
PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
