Are You a Senior Systems Administrator Ready to Modernize and Sustain Mission-Critical Network Infrastructure?
QSSHire is partnering with a cleared client to find an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support the maintenance, modernization, and day-to-day operations of mission-critical network and computing environments. This role is responsible for administering enterprise infrastructure including servers, storage systems, virtualized environments, network resources, and supporting hardware while ensuring operational availability, security, and performance.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience supporting Windows, Linux, and Unix environments; administering virtual infrastructures; implementing security controls; and maintaining enterprise networks. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience with automation technologies, and the ability to recommend and implement modern infrastructure solutions that improve operational efficiency, network reliability, and mission effectiveness.
In This Role, You’ll:
Maintain and administer customer network resources, servers, storage platforms, virtual infrastructures, and associated hardware.
Support daily operations including system monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performance optimization.
Create, deploy, configure, maintain, and decommission virtual machines within VMware environments.
Design, administer, and maintain network infrastructure while ensuring system availability, reliability, and security.
Implement and maintain system and network security policies in accordance with organizational requirements and industry best practices.
Manage and resolve operational issues through Jira ticketing processes and provide timely support to end users.
Utilize automation tools and workflow technologies to streamline administrative and maintenance activities.
Support system modernization initiatives and provide recommendations for network architecture, system design, and infrastructure improvements.
Configure and support authentication, compliance, monitoring, and security-related functions across enterprise environments.
Install, rack, configure, and maintain hardware, servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
Support GPU-enabled systems and infrastructure as required by mission needs.
Assist with annual inventory management and asset accountability activities.
Configure and maintain isolated network environments and enclaves.
Manage cluster environments and support high-availability infrastructure operations.
Develop, maintain, and update system administration, network, and operational documentation.
Utilize Jira and Confluence to track work activities, document processes, manage tickets, and support knowledge management efforts.
Maintain accurate network documentation, system inventories, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and operationally effective.
You’ll Succeed Here If You Have:
Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly is required
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
15 years of Systems Administration experience supporting programs, contracts, or environments of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Experience supporting multiple operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Unix.
Experience administering Ubuntu environments.
Experience implementing and maintaining system and network security policies.
Experience administering enterprise systems and networks including monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, and operational support.
Experience with System Security Plans (SSPs), authentication mechanisms, compliance requirements, and monitoring solutions.
Experience designing, administering, and maintaining enterprise networks.
Experience installing, racking, configuring, and supporting hardware and infrastructure equipment.
Experience administering VMware environments.
Experience building, deploying, managing, and maintaining virtual machines.
Experience supporting GPU-enabled infrastructure and computing environments.
Experience supporting annual inventory and asset management activities.
Experience utilizing Ansible for automation and configuration management.
Experience creating and maintaining technical system and network documentation.
Experience using Jira and Confluence.
Strong customer support skills and responsiveness to user requirements.
Experience establishing and supporting secure enclaves and isolated network environments.
Experience supporting enterprise system hardware and infrastructure.
Experience using NetBox.
Experience managing clustered environments and high-availability systems.
Flexibility to travel between College Park, MD & Laurel, MD
