Regional NAMTS Coordinator
Purpose
Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate opening for a Regional NAMTS Coordinator supporting the Navy Afloat Maintenance Training Strategy (NAMTS) Program. This position provides administrative, technical, analytical, and program execution support to Government stakeholders while serving as a key liaison between Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), Navy Afloat Training Activities (NATAs), Navy Training Maintenance Activities (NTMAs), and program leadership. Located in Bangor, WA
The Regional NAMTS Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing workforce development, qualification management, process improvement, and maintenance readiness throughout the assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR). When no Regional NAMTS Coordinator is assigned within a geographic area, the incumbent may also provide support and guidance to parent and neighboring NTMAs.
Job Description
- Provide on-site NAMTS support to Government stakeholders and assigned Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs).
- Support local Navy Afloat Training Activities (NATAs) when an Afloat NAMTS Coordinator (ANC) is not assigned within the Area of Responsibility.
- Conduct United Services Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP) and Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) indoctrination training, including an overview of all NAMTS program components and benefits for NTMA leadership and NAMTS candidates.
- Organize, coordinate, and facilitate NAMTS training events, workshops, waterfront presentations, and engagement activities.
- Provide administrative, technical, analytical, and process improvement support for the NAMTS program within the assigned RMC/AOR.
- Evaluate program information and provide recommendations, lessons learned, and best practices to Government stakeholders, NTMAs, Project Management, and Technical Support teams.
- Enroll NAMTS candidates and monitor qualification progress throughout the assigned RMC/AOR.
- Maintain historical records, JQR feedback reports, program metrics, and lessons learned.
- Analyze program data to identify trends, root causes, process inefficiencies, policy gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop recommendations and corrective actions to improve program effectiveness, qualification completion rates, and maintenance readiness.
- Apply scientific, mathematical, operational, and analytical techniques to collect and evaluate quantitative data in support of performance metrics and management reporting.
- Coordinate with Government and contractor stakeholders to address program concerns, communicate status updates, and support program execution.
- Gather and communicate fleet feedback to the NAMTS Project Team and Government leadership.
- Apply continuous process improvement principles to all assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have a degree in related field; BA Degree and at least 4 years in related experience or Associates and at least 8 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 10 years of technical or operational experience.
- Must have Navy shipboard experience and Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) shipyard, Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF), or related maintenance organization experience.
- Must possess knowledge of the workflow process associated with ship maintenance, lifecycle management, and availabilities across multiple ship classes.
- Must be familiar with U.S. Navy ship maintenance procedures, policies, and execution.
- Must have communication skills (written and oral); able to effectively interact with customers and associates at all levels of the Chain of Command.
- Must be detail oriented and efficient multi-tasker, able to learn new tasks and concepts quickly, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated team player but able to work independently.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer 10 years’ of experience within a Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA), Supervisor Ship Building (SUPSHIP), Intermediate Maintenance Facilities (IMF), RMC or Non-Nuclear Afloat Maintenance Department as a supervisor in charge of scheduling, training, and quality assurance (QA) of Sailors that perform I-Level shipboard maintenance and repair on engineering, deck, combat systems and/or C4I equipment. Applicants must possess all the stated experience and credentials prior to being hired.
- Experience supervising or managing the scheduling, training, qualification, and quality assurance of Sailors performing Intermediate-Level (I-Level) maintenance and repair.
- Experience supporting engineering, deck, combat systems, C4I, or related shipboard maintenance programs.
- Prior experience supporting Navy qualification, workforce development, readiness, or training programs.
- Previous military leadership experience at the Chief Petty Officer level or above is highly desirable.
Security Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel- less than 10%
