A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) at the GS-0201-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serves as the agency HR Specialist (Classification) technical authority and SME and is responsible for planning and executing goals to accomplish position management and classification services in order to meet the needs of the Agency.
- Responsible for the planning and implementing the position classification and position management program for the entire agency and its customers.
- Responsible for the review and approval/disapproval determination of complex Management Change and Occupational Change Requests (MCR/OCR) submitted by management officials in order to ensure proper positon management.
- Keeps abreast advises, and implements new and changing classification and position management requirements to ensure compliance with OPM regulations. Solves classification problems that are unique to the mission of the agency.
- Determines the need for and leads special occupational and position management studies that have agency-wide impact. Assesses agency staffing patterns, and changing occupational needs in order to recommend organizational realignments and/or modifications to existing organizational structures. Performs classification and position structures reviews of the most complex position and organizations.

- Resolved complex position management issues by conducting in-depth research and applying rigorous analytical methods to make sound, fact-based decisions
- Developed and executed strategic goals to deliver comprehensive position management and classification services aligned with agency-wide objectives
- Acted as the subject matter expert for difficult and complex DoD position issues, advising other experts on resolution strategies, interpreting guidance, and proactively implementing interventions.
