Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Special Operations Support Policy Staff Officer III to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Warfighter Information & Security (OUSW I&S) at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA . This is a full-time, onsite position supporting senior Department of Defense leadership within a high-visibility, high-impact environment. This role is a strategic staff and policy advisory position, not an operational role. The Staff Officer provides direct decision-support to senior military and civilian leaders by conducting research, developing policy recommendations, preparing executive-level briefings, and coordinating across the defense and intelligence communities. The ideal candidate brings prior SOF and/or clandestine operations experience and excels in translating complex operational and intelligence issues into clear, actionable guidance for senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze intelligence reporting and operational updates related to special operations and sensitive activities.
- Research complex and sensitive issues involving Special Operations Forces (SOF) and associated mission sets.
- Draft executive-level briefing materials for General Officers, Senior Pentagon officials, and defense executives.
- Review existing and proposed policies to ensure special operations activities comply with applicable laws, authorities, and regulations.
- Coordinate and collaborate with military intelligence organizations, interagency partners, and other government stakeholders.
- Prepare talking points, background papers, and policy recommendations for senior DoD leadership.
- Respond rapidly to urgent leadership taskings requiring concise, accurate, and well-supported information.
- Manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes Pentagon environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Active TS/SCI clearance required .
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF) and/or clandestine operations .
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing policy, strategic guidance, or operational recommendations .
- Strong understanding of intelligence operations, sensitive activities, and SOF mission sets.
- Proven experience preparing executive-level briefings , decision-support products, and background materials.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities.
- Experience supporting senior government or military leadership is highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across interagency, intelligence, and defense organizations.
Compensation:
- Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 *Depending on experience*
