Senior Full Stack Engineer

Mount Indie is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a venture-backed defense technology startup building the next generation of agentic AI and electronic warfare (EW) systems for America's most elite warfighters - SOCOM and JSOC. Founded by a 12-year Navy SEAL electronic warfare operator, they build technology that was personally needed in the field. This is a small, high-ownership team. No politics, no fluff. Just driven people solving hard problems that actually matter.

This is a senior, high-impact engineering role at one of the most technically ambitious startups in the defense AI space. You'll be among the first 10 engineers, which means the work you produce today will be foundational - not incremental. You'll span the full stack: from modern web frontends to backend services, containerized deployments, sensor integrations, and data pipelines. You'll work directly alongside the founding technical team, productionalizing proof-of-concept systems and expanding them into robust, mission-ready platforms. What you'll do:

• Own full-stack development across our web application - frontend UI through backend APIs and data layers.
• Take high-level, ambiguous problem statements and break them into clean, production-ready solutions - no hand-holding, no legacy constraints.
• Integrate new sensors and data sources into unified pipelines; normalize disparate formats (including radio/SIGINT stream data) into consistent, actionable outputs.
• Expand and productionalize proof-of-concept systems into hardened, mission-critical platforms used in real operational environments.
• Build and maintain containerized services using Docker Compose; design for deployment in disconnected, resource-constrained environments where power and heat are real engineering constraints.
• Translate operational requirements into software sprints and long-term roadmaps in collaboration with the founding team.
• Write and maintain testing methodologies for R&D systems in an environment where precision is non-negotiable.
• Contribute to AI/ML pipelines - writing agents, performing ETL work, deploying models, and iterating based on real-world output.

Skills and Technical Experience:

• Strong Full Stack Engineering - Non-Negotiable: Python backend, modern JS frontend (React or Angular), REST APIs, Docker, databases. You must have touched UI and built production systems end-to-end.
• AI/ML Experience - Highly Valued: Written agents, performed ETL, deployed models in real environments. Data science, ML engineering, or applied AI background is a genuine differentiator here.
• EW / SIGINT Background - Not Required, Big Plus: Radio frequency domain knowledge, experience with SIGINT data formats or streaming sensor data.
