Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist with test readiness activities, including setup, instrumentation checks, and pre-test inspections under guidance.
- Help prepare and update test cards, procedures, and checklists; track changes and approvals.
- Support day-of-test execution by monitoring test steps, logging data, and communicating status to the Test Director.
- Perform basic data review and help compile results, plots, and summaries for internal customers with technical oversight.
- Coordinate with Systems and Evaluation Engineering to clarify requirements and ensure proper integration into test plans.
- Help maintain the test schedule, track hardware needs, and support asset/rig readiness to meet program milestones.
- Contribute to lessons learned capture, corrective actions, and knowledge sharing across engine owners.
- Participate in priority meetings, tollgate reviews, and readiness checks; follow documented best practices and TSE processes.
- Support budget/schedule inputs by providing estimates and status to responsible teams; learn finance and scheduling tools.
- Maintain transparent, professional communication with program customers and cross-functional partners.
- Prioritize safety and compliance, promptly escalating risks and following standard work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- Internship/co-op, project work, or lab experience related to testing, instrumentation, or data analysis preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We do not sponsor employment visas for this role.
Desired Characteristics
- Exposure to engine or rig testing, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with finance and scheduling tools (Open Plan, Clarity) and analytics/visualization (Spotfire or similar).
- Basic understanding of project coordination and ability to manage multiple tasks with supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and a learning mindset.
- Experience collaborating with DoD or commercial customers and processes is a plus.
- Awareness of lean/continuous improvement concepts and standard work.
- Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher).
