Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with an Agile software development team delivering value to a DoD customer in small, incremental iterations.
- Be responsible for following pre-defined software safety practices to develop flight critical software. This includes software architecture reviews, documentation updates, and comprehensive testing of new capabilities.
- Develop software designs using best practices and object-oriented methodologies.
- Routine collaboration with team members in developing system capabilities is expected.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Clearance Required: Secret
- US citizen ship is required for work on DOD contracts
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required
- 4 additional years of related experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
- 3+ years of related experience is required
- Must have experience in an object-oriented programming language like C#/.NET, Java, or C++.
- Candidate must have experience creating automated unit and integration level tests.
- Experience establishing good configuration management practices; will be responsible for proper code maintenance, merging, and configuration management.
- Experience presenting to customers and conducting demonstrations.
- CONUS Travel required: Less than 20%
- Must reside within a 70-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL
Desired Qualifications:
- Prefer understanding of agile software development, ideally Extreme Programming (XP).
- Experience with web and platform engineering is desired.
- Familiarity with Git for software source control and configuration management.
- Experience leading small agile teams and mentoring junior software engineers.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like terraform.
- Experience developing in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud environments.
- Familiar with docker and/or Kubernetes deployment strategies.
