Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of wireless network maintenance and performance monitoring.
- Lead the design and architecture of the organization's wireless network infrastructure, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
- Implement and manage wireless networking fundamentals, including wireless protocols, standards, and best practices.
- Design and deploy wireless network solutions, including wireless access points, controllers, and network management systems.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the wireless network, implementing wireless security solutions and protocols.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to integrate wireless networking with the overall network infrastructure and data center environments.
- Optimize wireless network performance, identifying and resolving issues to enhance coverage and reliability.
- Monitor network performance, uptime and user connectivity in real-time.
- Work with network management and wireless design tools (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet).
- Schedule and perform routine checks and maintenance on all wireless access devices (e.g., wireless access points, wireless controllers) to ensure optimal operation.
- Provide on-demand troubleshooting for connectivity issues and user support for wireless network-related problems.
- Access network usage and plan for upgrades or expansions to accommodate growth and changes in user demand.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes and maintenance activities.
- Draft and publish policies, procedures and best practices.
- Perform lab and test designs and functions of all wireless networking equipment.
- Audit network designs for over-design or under-design.
- Collaborate cross functionally with other departments to ensure best practices and innovation.
- Train and work with operational staff members.
- Identify potential risks, including hardware failures, security breaches and develop mitigation strategies for each.
- Perform all aspects of wireless installation, configuration, maintenance, sustainment, upgrade, replacement, troubleshooting and removal following approved guidelines and direction.
- Provide suggestions and recommendations to customer regarding wireless architecture to include wireless design, hardware models and software versions.
- Manage software configurations, device certificates, software backups and software upgrades.
- Implement and maintain DISA STIG and IAVM compliance, utilizing agency change control and management processes as it pertains to Enterprise Wireless Network devices.
- Troubleshoot wireless end-user devices (Handheld Terminals (HHT), wireless laptops, scales, IOT, etc.).
- Provide artifacts and documents to support RMF as directed by customer
Qualifications
Required:
- 3-7 years' of experience in a relevant field
- CCNA & Comptia Security+ CE, CISSP, or other network centric industry recognized certifications.
- Are knowledgeable of industry-standard methods and practices at an advanced level concerning architecture, design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, management and administration of wireless network solutions, including, wireless access points, wireless LAN controllers, access control systems, configuration management systems, and network management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the engineering, application, and development of multiple operating systems.
- Analyzes computer software and hardware requirements to provide integration and implementation support through the design and development of new systems at a highly technical level.
- Ensures that system are functioning according to design specifications. Analyzes and documents users' functional and data requirements.
- Develops site survey instruments to gather detailed user requirements and business process analysis data.
- Conducts functional user interviews to document functional, system, customization, and data requirements and data sources.
- Determines data requirements for internal processes and external interfaces.
- Develops new systems or tailors commercial products to meet user requirements.
- Maps existing data structures and migrates legacy data to the new or tailored systems.
- Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meets documented user requirements.
- Develops documentation to describe system requirements and use.
- Provides technical support and diagnoses and resolves system problems.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications, as assigned.
- This level possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
- Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
- Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
- May supervise others.

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $95,000-$99,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
