Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Interdisciplinary Engineer providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Electronic Systems Directorate (AFLCMC/ES). The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Electronic Systems (AFPEO/ES) has the collective AFMC mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Electronic Systems portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/ES is headquartered at Hanscom AFB, MA, with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.
This position is with AFLCMC/ESA and will provide systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, test, operation, sustainment, and system disposal.
Responsibilities
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical and electrical engineering support for Air Force systems across development, modification, and sustainment activities.
- Support system upgrades, hardware changes, and engineering modifications, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
- Perform technical analysis, data review, and evaluation of engineering changes, supporting fielded system improvements and sustainment needs.
- Assist with the design, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of engineering tests, including FAA-related test procedures.
- Conduct engineering assessments at the component, subsystem, and system levels, focusing on performance, safety, and integration impacts.
- Review and verify technical documentation, drawings, engineering data, schematics, and specifications for accuracy and adequacy.
- Assist with test and evaluation by developing test documentation, executing procedures, collecting results, and preparing engineering reports.
- Provide engineering support for hardware integration, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting activities.
- Participate in engineering meetings, technical reviews, and working groups to support program actions and resolve technical issues.
- Evaluate contractor engineering proposals, technical data packages, modification requests, and related engineering deliverables.
- Support risk and issue tracking, technical planning, and coordination of engineering tasks related to modifications and sustainment.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering,or Electrical Engineering)
- or 15 years of directly related experience with 8 years in a DoD setting
Experience:
- Reviewing technical data, drawings, and engineering documentation
- Supporting engineering changes, hardware modifications, and system upgrades
- Conducting tests, analyzing test data, and preparing engineering reports
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition environments and engineering activities supporting development, production, modification, and sustainment
- General knowledge of embedded systems, electrical hardware, mechanical hardware, or multi-platform equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's in professional engineering (Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering) from ABET-accredited program with 12 years of experience (5 in DoD) or
- Masters Degree from ABET-accredited program with 10 years of experience (5 in DoD)
Technical Skills
- Experience performing engineering work supporting hardware design, electrical systems, mechanical components, or avionics subsystems
- Experience leading or coordinating engineering tasks or engineering teams
- Experience with air traffic control equipment, avionics systems, or radar systems
- Experience supporting engineering testing, troubleshooting, or performance analysis
Interpersonal Skills
