Position Objective: The Jurisdictional Coordinator III shall support the Operations Support Directorate (OSD) within the Countering Weapons of Mass Destructions Office (CWMD) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, expand, and/or maintain partnerships within the jurisdiction, to include federal, state, and local partners (e.g.,public health, emergency management, law enforcement, environmental protection, first responders, military, etc.).
- Provide jurisdictional information, support, and response to Biodetection Program inquiries.
- Identify information sharing needs of the jurisdiction and coordinate with the Biodetection Program Office to make it available.
- Share jurisdictional best practices and lessons learned with the Government and other jurisdictional coordinators.
- Facilitate local Biodetection meetings to ensure accurate and adequate information flows between strategic and tactical aspects of the Biodetection Program.
- Report updates on significant jurisdictional activities to the Biodetection Program Office on a bi-weekly basis.
- Report any Biodetection incidents to the Biodetection Program Office within 24 hours of occurrence, including, but not limited to, system discrepancies and theft or loss of Biodetection-related equipment.
- Provide communications, planning, management, and consultation to local, state and federal staff, including laboratorians, epidemiologists, air quality technicians, emergency managers, emergency preparedness planners, and communicable disease and environmental health programs.
- Serve as primary liaison for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to the jurisdiction(s) for program management, planning, portal, and training and exercise activities.
- Coordinate (and assist in developing) stakeholder plans, protocols, trainings, and exercises.
- Share insights, best practices, and lessons learned with program office and teammates.
- Identify information sharing needs of the jurisdiction and coordinate with the program office.
- Facilitate local meetings to ensure accurate and adequate information flows between strategic and operational components of the program.
- Oversee and coordinate special event deployments.
- Serve as jurisdictional subject matter expert for DHS CWMD engagement activities.
- Submit bi-weekly professional-looking reports on significant jurisdictional activities.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Active, Secret clearance is required.
- US Citizenship required.
- Candidates must be able to pass a DHS Suitability Check.
- Doctorate or master's degree from an accredited university in public health or related fields such as biology epidemiology, environmental health or science, emergency management or industrial hygiene.
- Doctorate degree requires five years relevant experience working in a local, state or federal public health or emergency management setting.
- Master's degree requires ten years relevant experience working in a local, state, or federal public health or emergency management setting.
- Bachelor's degree requires 15 years of relevant experience working in a local, state, or federal public health or emergency management setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrate high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
