Senior Systems Engineer with focused I&T experience for complex, Safety of Life ATC systems
Clearance: None, Clearable U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain TS/SCI when they move to another program in the future
The candidate must have a minimum of twenty (20) years of professional engineering experience in the
design and implementation of complex, real-time signal processing systems. Additionally, the
candidate must have at least 10 years of specific experience performing and leading Integration and Test
(I&T) initiatives. Strong preference for experience with Satellite Navigation (SATNAV) and Satellite
Communication (SATCOM) systems related to global ATC operations and Air Traffic Management
(ATM).
Must have familiarity with SAE ARP 4754. Knowledge of safety critical software development
techniques (DO-278A) and SAE ARP 4761 is highly desired. Experience with airborne navigation
systems to include ICAO SARPS, FAA TSO, and RTCA MOPS processes is also desired.
Experience in client-server architectures and networking techniques and protocols. Languages to be
used include C, C++, and Python. Object-Oriented Design experience is a plus. Operating systems include
Linux.
Key Responsibilities
Leading a multi-contractor, international team performing Integration and Test for complex,
real-time, Air Traffic Control System (GNSS Satellite Based Augmentation System [SBAS])
Implementing and leading a formal Validation & Verification program responsible for
addressing ~ 15K+ system/sub-system requirements
Experience with all traditional Verification methods to include Test, Inspection, Demonstration,
and Analysis. Must have background in advanced analytical methods involving quantitative
fault trees and experience with modelling & simulation systems to assess extremely rare, but
high impact events/scenarios
Ability to prepare formal documentation (CDRLs) that address the entire System I&T lifecycle to
include System/Sub-system Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports. Experience with formal Test
witnessing by Government Agencies and/or FFRDC-like organizations
Previous experience with DO-278A Assurance Level 2 (AL2) formal software verification
methods is highly desired
Familiarity with Software/System FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DERs) is desired
MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engr, Systems Engr, Computer Science, or
related field is required.
Experience in LINUX and C/C++ is desired
GNSS (GPS, Galileo) experience
I&T experience with on-orbit Satellite communications systems and earth station/TT&C. Cband/L-band experience to included ARNS protected RF considerations
I&T experience on large scale, redundant WANs with significant cyber protection/INFOSEC
requirements
Knowledge of communications systems theory with strengths in analog/digital
modulation/demodulation
Knowledge of signal processing algorithms/techniques to include RF interference mitigation
