Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking an experienced Senior MQ Architect/SME to support a federal client in designing, modernizing, and securing enterprise messaging platforms across mission-critical systems.
In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for IBM MQ engineering and architecture, guiding complex integration efforts, hardening messaging infrastructure, and ensuring high availability across a large federal enterprise.
What You'll Do
As the Senior MQ Architect/SME, you will:
- Architect and design enterprise IBM MQ messaging solutions with high availability, resilience, and secure operational controls
- Lead modernization of legacy messaging platforms and integration patterns
- Define MQ standards, configuration baselines, and enterprise deployment models
- Troubleshoot advanced MQ infrastructure issues across distributed, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Engineer queue manager architecture, clustering strategies, channel security, and message routing design
- Partner with application and integration teams to ensure performance, reliability, and proper interfacing
- Conduct capacity planning, performance analysis, scalability assessments, and reliability engineering
- Support security teams by implementing TLS, certificate management, and hardened MQ configurations
- Provide technical leadership, SME guidance, and documentation across engineering and operations teams
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
- On-site in Colorado Springs, CO
- Support required during standard business hours
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Public Trust clearance required or higher
- 10+ years experience architecting and administering IBM MQ in enterprise environments
- Demonstrated Expert-level experience with:
- MQ architecture, queue manager design, clustering, and HA
- MQ security hardening, channel security, TLS, and certificate management
- MQ troubleshooting, performance tuning, and diagnostics across distributed systems
- MQ integration with application servers, cloud platforms, middleware, and APIs
- Experience supporting modernization efforts (cloud migration, container-based MQ, automation)
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and secure data exchange
- Support mission-critical messaging infrastructure for secure federal systems
- Collaborate with senior engineers and enterprise architects
- Influence modernization and architecture decisions across a major federal program
- Work on-site supporting national priorities in Colorado Springs
