Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Associate Manufacturing Engineer for a space-based cellular broadband network located in Midland, TX. The Associate Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing readiness, optimizing processes, and supporting the smooth transition of products from design to full-scale production. This position will be on-site in Midland, TX six days per week!
Responsibilities of the Associate Manufacturing Engineer include:
• Evaluate new product concepts and designs for manufacturability, providing actionable recommendations to R&D and Product Engineering teams.
• Develop safe, cost-effective manufacturing methods and processes that meet quality standards and production requirements.
• Conduct proof-of-concept and proof-of-principle studies to validate proposed manufacturing approaches.
• Design detailed manufacturing workflows, including layouts, tooling, fixtures, programming, testing procedures, and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement of production methods using Six Sigma principles and expertise in product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, equipment capabilities, assembly techniques, and quality standards.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in current production, delivering engineering support to operations teams.
• Participate in or lead safety initiatives, Kaizen events, and other continuous improvement programs.
• Support qualification and verification of new or modified products through all manufacturing stages to final completion.
Qualifications for the Associate Manufacturing Engineer include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline OR 8+ years of equivalent experience
• 0–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CAD/CAM tools
• Solid understanding of tooling, gauging, Six Sigma principles, and capability studies
• Experience creating technical documentation, including procedures and work instructions
• Exposure to process development and manufacturing engineering within aerospace or high-tech production environments
• Technology Stack
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Risk and Reliability Analysis Tools (e.g., FMEA software, reliability modeling applications)
• PLM and Document Control Systems (e.g., Windchill, Arena)
• Data Analysis and Visualization Tools (preferred)
• Comfortable working in a standard office setting.
• Capable of operating a computer for extended durations.
• Willing to provide occasional support in laboratory or manufacturing environments.
Compensation for the Associate Manufacturing Engineer include:
• Salary Range: $70,000- $80,000, $10k Relocation Assistance, and 500 RSU's.
