Apex Systems has an immediate need for a Network Communications Engineer in Norfolk, VA. This is an estimated 12+ month contract opportunity supporting the Department of the Navy's entire shore-based IT infrastructure clients on the East Coast and nationwide.
Job Title: Network Communications Engineer
Location: Norfolk, VA
Contract Layout: Long-term contract (12+ Month Contract expectation)
Contract Base Pay Rate: $37– $42.00 / Hourly
SCA Pay Rate: $5.09 / Hourly (add to hourly base rate)
Sick Leave: Up to 56 hours accrued annually
Federal Holidays Paid Time Off: 12 paid federal holidays annually
Additional PTO: At 12 months on contract, you will begin receiving 80 hours annually
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment*

Qualifications
• Secret Security Clearance (eligible to be sponsored/upgraded to Top Secret)
• Security+ CE
• CCNA Certified (in hand or willing to obtain within 6 months)
• 4+ years of experience with Network Configuration Experience and Routing + Switching Experience
Project Details / Mission Supported:
• Configuration of networks as well as the integration and testing of complex large scale computer integrated networks
• Troubleshoot Local Area Networks/Base Area Networks/Wide Area Networks (LAN/BAN/WAN) and other network related problems
• Administer LAN/BAN/WANs
• Schedule conversions and cutovers
• Evaluate communication hardware and software
