Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Estimating and Pricing Specialist (Senior or Lead) to join our team developing estimates for Air Dominance Proprietary programs in Berkeley, Missouri. Our team is open to a broad range of experience levels including Level 4 and Level 5 Specialists to find the best fit for the position.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of budgetary and formal estimates (labor, material, travel, etc.) and cost/price proposals for new business activities, contract changes and follow-on work. The ideal candidate will combine strong critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads development of complex estimates and prices from complex technical requirements through the design, build, and support stages of the program
  • Leads development, and application of complex estimating, and pricing strategies using innovative computational techniques
  • Guides business proposals, evaluates, and makes recommendations based on complex or unique requests for proposals, and substantiates estimates, and pricing
  • Leads and performs complex analysis, and provides recommendations in support of pricing, and estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.)
  • Coordinates and collaborates with proposal teams, and cost element functional owners to develop appropriate basis of estimate, and substantiation of cost estimates, proposals, and other related business decision data
  • Provides fact-finding, negotiation and audit support of cost proposal artifacts, and coordinate responses through proposal teams
  • Supports, prepares, and briefs senior leader-level presentations
  • Identifies, assesses and implements changes to processes, tools, and techniques to simplify estimating, and pricing methodologies, and improve cost estimating accuracy
  • Support compliance activities


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in a business-related role (finance, contracts, accounting, etc.), previous estimating experience required
  • 3+ years of experience with the Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLookups, pivot tables, charts, etc
  • Experience performing parametric estimates and data analysis


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with and knowledge of United States Government Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Experience using data analysis to drive decision making
  • Experience leading projects with little direct supervision and drive project to completion
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Experience performing opportunity and risk analysis

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range Level 4: $119,700 - $146,300

Summary Pay Range Level 5: $149,400 - $182,600
