General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

We are seeking a detail-oriented team player to represent GA-ASI and liaise with the Department of Defense (DoD), its service components, and special operations organizations and units. This is a full-time position located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, that reports to the Sector Vice President of Special Operations Forces Strategic Development and is responsible for directing business development activities for products and services within the company's portfolio of capabilities. A successful candidate should be a self-starter with minimal oversight, demonstrate good analytic and organizational skills, and be an experienced strategic communicator. Travel to GA-ASI headquarters in Poway, CA is required, and travel overseas is anticipated.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Represents GA-ASI by creating, building, and maintaining relationships with the DoD, its service components, and special operations organizations and units.
  • Develops short and long-term strategies for the company's various products and services.
  • Consults with executive management to implement current, annual, and long-term business development objectives for the company.
  • Maintains situational awareness of customer organizational structures, authorities, roles, responsibilities, and operations.
  • Assists in shaping requirements to facilitate development and procurement of GA-ASI products and services to include other partners.
  • Prepares written products (reports, info papers, executive summaries) to inform, shape and defend GA-ASI positions.
  • Prepares and presents briefings to DOD and SOF leadership and other stakeholders as required.
  • Oversees all phases of business development activities to ensure business and financial objectives are attained.
  • Leads the development and expansion of strategic business opportunities by consulting with management on partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures, while evaluating potential opportunities through market analysis, competitive monitoring, and customer needs assessment.
  • Consults with executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the unit(s) and participate in the development of Group/Company objectives.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors or Master's in business administration or a related field and fifteen or more years of progressively complex experience in business development with at least nine years managing business development activities. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience specific to JSOC and SOF operations, including experience working with DoD and special operations forces required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Must be customer-focused, able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI security clearance is required;
  • Possessing an active Top-Secret SCI preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
