Vice President of Defense: Mission-Critical Growth Leader

Are you an established defense growth leader ready to own and define the future of national security programs?

We are seeking a Vice President of Defense to drive our expansion within the Department of War (DoD). You will be the visionary responsible for transforming urgent mission gaps into funded, operational programs. This high-autonomy role requires full-cycle ownership, from initial contact and strategic shaping through first operational use and scaling success.

We are looking for a builder-leader with a bias for action who can significantly impact contested logistics and maritime/expeditionary problem sets.
Key Responsibilities: Win, Field, and Scale

Your focus is the successful winning, fielding, and scaling of programs, accountable for revenue and program outcomes across all Services and COCOMs.

Strategic Campaigns: Define theater- and service-specific campaign plans, mapping competitive dynamics to identify the most direct paths to resourcing and funding.

Full-Cycle Capture: Lead all phases of business development, including PPBE insertion, capture strategy, proposal submission, award, and initial operational employment.

Executive Engagement: Maintain enduring relationships and credibly represent the company with senior leaders in the Pentagon, the field, and on Capitol Hill.

Product-Mission Alignment: Directly align our product roadmap with urgent mission needs and set the operating cadence for business development.
Qualifications:
Essential Experience

1020+ years across operations, acquisition, capture/business development, and/or program management.

Demonstrated track record of leading $0 \rightarrow 1$ rapid-acquisition programs and winning large-scale bids; converting prototypes/pilots into funded, scalable programs.

Mastery of DoD resourcing/acquisition and how requirements map to funding lines, schedules, and risk.

Trusted relationships at senior levels across Services/COCOMs, PEOs/program offices, and primes.

Proven ability to stand up initial operational capability for new systems and translate technical capabilities into compelling, mission-relevant narratives.

Strong proposal leadership, negotiations, pricing, and forecast ownership.

Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance is required.

DC/DMV area preferred; travel approximately 25%.
Highly Preferred Qualities

INDOPACOM relationships and familiarity with maritime/expeditionary and distributed logistics missions.

Experience shaping resource decisions across PPBE timelines.

Prior success partnering with primes/integrators and scaling defense programs from first award to multi-year contracts.
