Description

SAIC has a Full-Time Position opening for a Construction Manager to work in support of the NCCIPSv2 Contract. This position will be on a standard work schedule Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day (4-10 work schedule). There will be occasional Friday availability as needed.

The National Center for Critical Information Processing and Storage (NCCIPS) is a federal shared services facility, managed by the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC). NCCIPS provides facilities support to meet the requirements of multiple federal agency data centers and manages those relationships via Interagency Agreements. NCCIPS is a 200,000 sq. ft. secure facility situated on a 64-acre campus within NASA Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi. This position is an on-site position located at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.

The Construction Manager will be part of a team of project managers within the Project Management Office (PMO), who are collectively responsible for management and oversight of all internal O&M and external customer projects. The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing Construction Projects from conception to completion. The Construction Manager will coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure smooth execution for the duration of the project.

Job Summary:
  • Oversee daily construction site activities.
  • Issue and collect access badges for the contractors and subcontractors daily.
  • Participate in preconstruction meetings to algin stakeholders on project scope, schedule, safety protocols, and contract requirements.
  • Attend regular project meetings with internal teams, contractors, and government representatives to provide updates and coordinate the next steps.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that the projects proceed smoothly without significant delays or issues.
  • Maintain consistent communication with project managers and stakeholders to report progress and resolve issues.
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications for accuracy and consistency; monitor field work to ensure alignment with approved plans.
  • Oversee contractor and subcontractor performance, including scheduling, safety compliance, and work quality, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Track project milestones and evaluate schedule performance; flag and address emerging problem areas that arise.

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required. Applicants may substitute experience in lieu of degree.


Required Skills/Experience:
  • 3+ years' experience in the areas of construction management, business administration, analyst for government projects, or related experience and/or training are preferred.
  • Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office Products to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to engage a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes and their impact on operational efficiency and project success.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, documentation, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of building and leading effective teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and online content management is a plus but not required.


Clearance:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and must be able to obtain a DOD Interim Secret clearance prior to employment. Continued employment is contingent that the employee obtains and maintains a full Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time.
