About the Role
We're looking for a People Operations Coordinator to support building and scaling our people function during a period of significant growth. This role will support recruiting, benefits administration, and HR compliance, with an initial heavy emphasis on talent acquisition to support our expansion. As hiring stabilizes, the role will shift toward optimizing employee experience, benefits programs, and compliance. This role reports up to the Business Operations Manager and will work closely with that team.

This role is offered as a hybrid or fully remote position based out of our Sterling, VA office. Preference will be given to candidates located in the northern Virginia area.
Salary
The base salary range for this position is between $75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.

This role reports up to the Business Operations Manager and will work closely with that team.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in full-cycle recruiting for technical roles, from sourcing through onboarding
- Manage recruiting tools, track metrics, and report on hiring progress
- Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and PTO
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and enrollment
- Research and recommend benefits improvements that support retention and competitiveness
- Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with federal contractor requirements
- Ensure state and federal filing requirements are met and maintained
General People Operations
- Contribute to employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Own employee engagement efforts
- Participate in Identifying opportunities to improve people processes and employee experience
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in HR, people operations, or recruiting, with demonstrated ability across multiple HR functions
- Strong full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in technical or federal contracting environments
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements
- Experience with HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and benefits administration
- Excellent communication skills and sound judgment when handling sensitive matters
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience recruiting cleared professionals or working in the federal contracting industry
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to government contractors
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification
