About the Company…
At Amplify Federal, our goal is to advance the pace of technology modernization by building values-based teams that are outcome-oriented and customer-obsessed. You’ll be joining a group of talented technologists who thrive on weighty challenges, are experts in their field, and care deeply about delivering meaningful results.
About the Role...
We're seeking an experienced Implementation Engineer to join our team supporting our client, a leading DoD technology company. As an Implementation Engineer, you'll work at the forefront of cloud-native technology, onboarding diverse customer applications onto their platform—a cutting-edge, ATO-approved DevSecOps environment that accelerates software delivery to Department of Defense networks. You'll tackle unique technical challenges with every customer implementation, working with the latest Kubernetes and cloud-native tools while contributing to critical national security missions.
Your responsibilities will include provisioning cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters, troubleshooting customer application issues, managing security remediation processes, and collaborating directly with customer engineers to ensure successful deployments. You'll be instrumental in managing multiple customer implementations simultaneously, each bringing distinct technical requirements and learning opportunities across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
Key projects you’ll be involved in:
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes workloads in production environments
• Build, package, and deploy containerized applications using Docker or containerd
• Support AWS environment operations, including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, and EKS
• Apply Helm charts and Kustomize overlays for environment-specific configuration
• Contribute to IaC workflows with Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Work within GitLab repositories, merge request flows, and CI/CD pipelines
• Manage images and artifacts within OCI-compliant registries such as Harbor, ECR, or Docker Registry
• Assist with Linux server administration, system updates, and troubleshooting
• Help implement networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, and security groups
• Collaborate with senior engineers and SMEs to deliver customer-ready solutions
You’re an ideal candidate if you possess:
• 1–2 years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production
• Strong AWS knowledge (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS)
• Hands-on container experience (Docker, containerd, etc.)
• Helm and Kustomize proficiency
• Understanding of cloud-native and microservices architectures
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, etc.)
• GitLab CI/CD and GitOps familiarity
• Experience with OCI container registries (Harbor, ECR, etc.)
• Linux command-line skills
Required Personal Qualities
• Highly adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working through ambiguity or fast-changing environments.
• Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail, customer service orientation, and a collaborative mindset.
• Self-directed learner with solid time-management skills and the patience to handle repetitive or complex implementation patterns.
• Foundational technical knowledge, including networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, security groups).
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Azure or GCP experience
• Service mesh technologies (Istio)
• Cilium CNI and network policies
• Kyverno policy management
• Karpenter or autoscaling experience
• Big Bang ecosystem familiarity
• Scripting (Bash, Python, Go, TypeScript)
• DoD or government contracting exposure
• Secret clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Multi-tenant architecture exposure
• Understanding of DoD compliance (IL2/IL4/IL5)
What we offer...
• Competitive pay
• Performance based bonuses
• Opportunities for advancement and skill development
• Flexible working schedule
