About the Company:

At Amplify Federal, our goal is to advance the pace of technology modernization by building values-based teams that are outcome-oriented and customer-obsessed. You’ll be joining a group of talented technologists who thrive on weighty challenges, are experts in their field, and care deeply about delivering meaningful results.

About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced Implementation Engineer to join our team supporting a leading DoD technology company. As an Implementation Engineer, you'll work at the forefront of cloud-native technology, onboarding diverse customer applications onto their platform—a cutting-edge, ATO-approved DevSecOps environment that accelerates software delivery to Department of Defense networks. You'll tackle unique technical challenges with every customer implementation, working with the latest Kubernetes and cloud-native tools while contributing to critical national security missions.

Your responsibilities will include provisioning cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters, troubleshooting customer application issues, managing security remediation processes, and collaborating directly with customer engineers to ensure successful deployments. You'll be instrumental in managing multiple customer implementations simultaneously, each bringing distinct technical requirements and learning opportunities across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

Key projects you’ll be involved in:

• Architect and lead Kubernetes deployments in complex production environments
• Serve as a subject matter expert for AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, and GitOps workflows
• Design scalable cloud-native applications and microservices patterns
• Lead IaC pipelines, code reviews, and automation strategies
• Oversee implementation of container registries, security scanning, and artifact management
• Troubleshoot advanced Linux, networking, and cluster-level issues
• Implement security best practices aligned with DoD requirements (IL2–IL5)
• Provide technical guidance to customers, leadership, and engineering teams
• Mentor and support Journeyman engineers through training, pairing, and code walkthroughs
• Influence platform standards, reusable patterns, and internal best practices
• Lead technical discovery and capture efforts for new customer engagements
• Represent the organization in customer demos, readiness meetings, and architecture reviews

You’re an ideal candidate if you possess:

• Hands-on Kubernetes production experience (3–7+ years preferred)
• Expert-level AWS knowledge including EKS and supporting ecosystem
• Deep containerization and orchestration expertise
• Advanced Helm chart design and customization
• Extensive Kustomize and multi-environment overlay experience
• Strong cloud-native architectural design skills
• Professional-level IaC fluency (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
• Mature GitLab CI/CD and GitOps experience
• Expertise with OCI registry workflows and image lifecycle management
• Advanced Linux administration
• Strong networking expertise

Required Personal Qualities

• Highly adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working through ambiguity or fast-changing environments.
• Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail, customer service orientation, and a collaborative mindset.
• Self-directed learner with solid time-management skills and the patience to handle repetitive or complex implementation patterns.
• Foundational technical knowledge, including networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, security groups).

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Istio/service mesh architecture
• Cilium CNI & advanced network policy design
• Kyverno policy governance at scale
• Cluster autoscaling / Karpenter tuning
• Big Bang platform engineering experience
• Strong scripting/automation in Bash, Python, Go, or TypeScript
• DoD customer background
• Active Secret or TS clearance
• Experience with multi-tenant platform design
• Deep familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements (e.g., RMF, STIGs, IL levels)

What we offer...
• Competitive pay
• Performance based bonuses
• Opportunities for advancement and skill development
• Flexible working schedule
