About the Role:
We’re seeking a Product Manager / Product Designer to lead the strategy, design, and delivery of user-centered digital services for federal customers. This hybrid role blends product vision, UX/UI design, user research, and agile execution to create government technology that is accessible, intuitive, and mission aligned.
You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and federal stakeholders to translate complex requirements into simple, elegant solutions. This role requires curiosity, strong communication, and a deep commitment to user advocacy and continuous improvement.
Key Projects You’ll Be Involved In:
• Lead product discovery and roadmap development aligned with mission outcomes
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, user research, and usability testing
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and service design flows in tools like Figma
• Translate mission needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and clear requirements
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver features through agile sprints
• Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and backlog refinement
• Ensure all designs meet federal accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.1)
• Build metrics dashboards and define measurable success indicators
• Communicate progress and strategic decisions across customer and internal leadership
You’re an Ideal Candidate If You Possess:
• 5–7+ years in product management, UX design, or service design
• Strong user-centered design and research experience
• Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
• Experience working on digital services for federal agencies
• Familiarity with agile methodologies
• Ability to translate complex policy or technical requirements into intuitive experiences
Required Personal Qualities:
• Empathetic listener and strong communicator
• Highly organized with a bias toward action
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity in mission-driven environments
• Customer-obsessed mindset with strong attention to detail
• Collaborative and adaptable across diverse teams
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with USWDS
• Ability to run accessibility audits and usability studies
• Familiarity with cloud-native platforms and APIs
• Background in service design or journey mapping
• Experience supporting modernization efforts within DoD, DHS, HHS, or similar agencies
• Active clearance or ability to obtain one
