Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Customer's technical lead to design, deploy, and sustain multiple high-visibility, fast-turnaround collection capabilities.
- Apply AI/ML techniques to extract, transform, index, and operationalize a wide range of structured and unstructured data types (text, images, video, audio, tabular, nested formats, etc.).
- Perform data engineering tasks such as cleansing, modeling, and formatting data of varied and unknown structures.
- Support the transfer and organization of mission-critical data across cloud storage environments.
- Coordinate with mission partners to ensure solutions meet operational requirements and tradecraft standards.
- Build and maintain AWS-based tools and infrastructure leveraging approved services.
- Validate collected data to ensure compliance with format and quality expectations.
- Maintain version-controlled code in the Customer's GitHub repository and deliver thorough documentation.
- Conduct ongoing operations and maintenance to adapt solutions to evolving technologies, collection targets, formats, and naming conventions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience developing in Python
- Experience with geospatial software, programming tools, and related data formats
- Strong background in AWS resource creation and management-including EC2, Lambda, S3, and IAM
- Proficiency with GitHub for version control
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency deploying applications using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) (Note: Ansible/Terraform are not substitutes for CDK)
- Strong understanding of containerization and hands-on work building and deploying containerized applications
- Background working with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, or AWS OpenSearch
- Capability to design, query, and maintain both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with additional cloud environments (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure)
- AWS certifications such as DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or SysOps Administrator are a plus
