Job Description
Join our team! BAE Systems is looking for an experienced litigator and investigator at our corporate headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. This position reports to the SVP & General Counsel and will handle disputes, advise internal business clients, litigate cases in collaboration with outside counsel, conduct internal compliance investigations, and interact with outside regulators.
This position will work on a wide range of matters, including government contract disputes, bid protests, government subpoenas and investigations, False Claims Act matters, and third-party subpoenas. This role will manage external legal support, manage e-discovery activities, advise on business and legal risks, set litigation budgets, and work with the International Trade Compliance team to lead investigations and support due diligence. This role also will provide the primary legal support to our Government Relations organization, the Political Action Committee, and our Government Compliance team.
This position is part of the Legal Organization, an enthusiastic and highly productive team, where each employee has the opportunity to grow their skills and work on challenging projects. The candidate must be: a team player; willing to assist with special projects as needed; able to balance multiple, competing priorities; and possess or be eligible to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance.
Job Duties:
Serve as subject matter expert on dispute resolution and litigation
Manage litigation for major matters, including managing discovery and drafting and editing legal papers, including pleadings and briefs.
Develop and implement strategies to address litigation and regulatory risk.
Research and analyze complex legal issues on a wide range of topics.
Provide in-house training on legal compliance issues.
Provide legal support to the Company's Government Relations organization, Political Action Committee, and Government Compliance teams.
Conduct due diligence on and on-board lobbyists.
Conduct ad hoc investigations.
Participate and lead on cross functional teams and special projects.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects. Use creative approaches to develop solutions.
J.D. from accredited law school.
License to practice and in good standing in a U.S. state bar.
10+ years of relevant legal experience, including at least 5 years as a litigation attorney in a law firm.
Experience with government investigations and government contracts disputes.
E-discovery experience and knowledge of e-discovery and records management systems.
Extensive knowledge of litigation practice.
Demonstrated commitment to cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent research, writing, analysis, and time management skills.
Nimble, curious, and a fast learner, with exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
U.S. DoD security clearance.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $196296 - $333704
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
