Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Operating a wide variety of firefighting equipment in performing technical rescue to meet standards set forth by the Authority Having Jurisdiction; 2. Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department; 3. Driving and operating firefighting vehicles AND; 4. Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures established within the scope of practice and protocols of the department. The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. This is a PRIMARY POSITION FOR SPECIAL RETIREMENT COVERAGE PURPOSES.
2. The employee is required to work a rotating work schedule which includes nights, weekends, holidays, and is subject to mandatory overtime and recall.
3. The employee is required to take and pass an occupational physical prior to employment, and then an annual occupational health examination thereafter, as a condition of employment.
4. The employee is required to report for duty during natural disasters and other emergency situations as directed by the Fire Chief.
5. The employee must wear a uniform and safety apparel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
6. This is a Testing Designated Position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.
7. This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and falls under the respiratory protection program and hearing conservation program.
8. The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid State driver's license is required.
9. Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth. In accordance with NFPA 1582 and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) standards.
10. Firefighters must be physically fit at all times in order to perform the duties of their position to the best of their abilities. As such, all operationally based 0081 series employees shall participate in a Wellness and Fitness Program established by their Fire Department, in order to maintain a level of health and fitness necessary for performing their job functions. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
- You will participate in regular training and exercises as required.
- You will perform effective pre-fire planning by identifying any new or existing hazards that may require modification of the prevention/protection program or type of response to a fire.
- You will be operating the engines that pump and distribute water or foam, driving the fire engines that pump and distribute water or foam, driving the fire engines and communicating while engaged in fire suppression operations.
