Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking RF Spectrum Engineers to support a diverse range of DoD, Federal, and commercial satellite customers. In this role, you will may contribute to critical programs involving radio frequency spectrum management, analysis, electronic warfare, and engineering.

COMPENSATION & CAREER GROWTH

Salary and level placement will be determined by factors such as years of relevant experience, educational background, and direct involvement in radio frequency programs. We encourage all levels of engineers to apply.

We have over 50 years of experience performing complex RF Engineering analysis for DoD customers, civilian government agencies, and commercial companies worldwide. Our expertise in collecting, analyzing, and formatting spectrum data, including RF measurement, frequency assignment, spectrum certification, LiDAR, and other geo-referenced data, enables us to produce refined RF modeling and simulation tools and applications with the reliability and precision needed to assure spectrum access and control.

HII's analysis-driven tools support diverse tasks such as spectrum forensics and deconfliction, testing for coverage amid urban clutter, and antenna site planning. HII's Radio Frequency and Electromagnetic Spectrum Engineering Directorate (RESED) offers a variety of work, from projects supporting international satellite coordination to countering IEDs. Our work is increasingly important in a world that depends on well-coordinated, interference-free spectrum access.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Key duties of an RF Spectrum Engineer may include:

  • Apply technical concepts, techniques, and procedures in the development of technical products.
  • Perform spectrum measurements and signal analysis using specialized tools.
  • Collaborate with design and operations teams to integreate RF spectrum considerations into system development.
  • Troubleshoot spectrum-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Learn and apply DoD, NTIA, FCC spectrum policies and procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and their spectrum requirements.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 0 - 15 years experience with bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in RF engineering, wireless communication, or spectrum management.
  • Familiarity with RF concepts such as propagation, modulation, and interference.
  • Exposure to spectrum management tools or databases.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active SECRET security clearance.


Preferred Requirements

  • Expertise in regulatory frameworks: NITIA Manual, FCC rules, ITU radio regulations, and host-nation coordination processes.
  • Experience briefing military leadership and advising program offices on spectrum risks and strategies.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies (5G, satellite constellations, unmanned systems)
  • Clearance: TS/SCI


Physical Requirements

  • May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
