About the Company:

At Amplify Federal, our mission is to accelerate technology modernization by building values-driven, outcome-focused teams that are obsessed with customer success. You’ll join a group of seasoned technologists who take on meaningful challenges, work with curiosity and precision, and care deeply about delivering high-impact results across the federal landscape.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of secure, scalable cloud-native platforms supporting federal mission environments. In this role, you’ll architect and operate modern infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, driving end-to-end platform capabilities including Kubernetes, automation, observability, and DevSecOps.

You’ll collaborate directly with customer teams, internal engineers, and Amplify leadership to build reliable, compliant, and mission-aligned platforms that deliver measurable outcomes. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate evolving federal requirements while supporting multiple concurrent engagements.

Key Projects You’ll Be Involved In:

• Architect and implement production-ready Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS, GKE)
• Lead design of platform components: networking, IAM, storage, scaling, observability
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
• Build IaC modules, automation frameworks, and reusable patterns
• Implement Zero Trust and NIST-aligned security controls across cloud environments
• Lead container platform best practices including registry management, scanning, and SBOM workflows
• Troubleshoot advanced cloud, Linux, and networking issues at scale
• Drive platform modernization and migration initiatives for federal customers
• Partner with application teams to enable smooth deployments, performance tuning, and release automation
• Mentor platform engineers and influence internal engineering standards
• Participate in architectural reviews, technical assessments, and customer briefings

You’re an Ideal Candidate If You Possess:

• 5–8+ years of cloud/platform engineering experience
• Expert-level AWS experience (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, EKS)
• Production-level Kubernetes expertise including Helm, Kustomize, GitOps
• Strong proficiency with Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectural patterns
• Hands-on Linux and networking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancing)
• Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog)
• Solid background implementing secure, compliant systems (NIST, FedRAMP, RMF)

Required Personal Qualities:

• Highly adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working through ambiguity
• Clear communicator with exceptional attention to detail
• Customer-obsessed mindset with strong collaboration skills
• Self-directed learner; able to thrive in fast-changing technical environments
• Strong time-management and prioritization abilities

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Service mesh experience (Istio, Linkerd)
• Cilium, Calico, or advanced Kubernetes networking expertise
• Kyverno or OPA governance at scale
• Serverless or event-driven architecture experience
• DoD/federal customer background
• Active clearance (Secret, TS, or TS/SCI)
• Multi-tenant platform design experience
• Experience with hardened environments (STIGs, IL2–IL6)

What We Offer:

• Competitive pay
• Performance-based bonuses
• Opportunities for advancement and skill development
• Flexible working schedule
