The Opportunity:
Provide technical leadership and engineering direction for the organization's AI/ML security initiatives and broader security programs. This senior technical role establishes the technical vision, architecture standards, and engineering practices that ensure the secure development, deployment, and operation of AI/ML systems within complex IT environments. The position bridges technical depth with strategic leadership to drive innovation while maintaining security and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain the technical vision and architecture for AI/ML security solutions
• Define security engineering standards and best practices for machine learning models and AI systems
• Lead the technical implementation of secure MLOps pipelines and practices
• Provide technical oversight and guidance across multiple security programs and initiatives
• Evaluate emerging AI/ML security threats and develop mitigation strategies
• Design technical solutions for AI model governance, explainability, and ethical AI
• Review complex system designs and architectures for security vulnerabilities
• Collaborate with program managers to align technical direction with program objectives
• Represent the organization as a technical authority in industry forums and with partners
• Mentor senior engineers and architects to build organizational capability
• Drive technical innovation while ensuring compliance with security requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• Experience: 12+ years of engineering experience with 6+ years in security engineering or architecture
• AI/ML Experience: Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and securing AI/ML systems at scale
• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of machine learning algorithms, AI frameworks, cybersecurity principles, and secure system design
• Leadership: Experience providing technical direction to engineering teams on complex projects
• Industry Knowledge: Expert understanding of current and emerging threats to AI systems
Desired: • Master's or Ph.D. in relevant field
• Security certifications (CISSP, CSSLP, etc.)
• ML/AI certifications or specialized academic focus
• Research publications in AI security or related fields
• Experience with secure cloud architectures for ML workloads
• Background in adversarial machine learning research
• Experience in defense, intelligence, or critical infrastructure sectors
