Connsci is seeking a Senior Drupal Developer to provide advanced development and maintenance support for a public facing website in a Windows Server/IIS/Azure GovCloud hosting environment for one of our federal customers. This role focuses on high-complexity programming, architecture-aligned enhancements, secure module updates, and performance improvements.
Responsibilities
• Perform advanced Drupal 9/10 development including custom module development and complex bug fixes
• Execute core/module updates and ensure secure rollout of Drupal security advisories
• Optimize application performance within IIS/PHP environment
• Implement accessibility-compliant (WCAG/508) templates and front-end elements
• Collaborate with Lead Architect on architectural decisions and update strategies
• Implement Git-based source control workflows and CI/CD practices
• Conduct advanced debugging, performance profiling, and code review
• Ensure site security, stability, and compatibility with Windows/IIS/PHP hosting
• Provide technical guidance to mid-level developer
Basic Qualifications
• At least 6 years of professional Drupal development experience
• At least 3 years of experience with Drupal 8/9/10 APIs, custom module development, and theme layer
• At least 2 years of experience with PHP, Twig, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript
• At least 1 year of experience with deploying and debugging Drupal on Windows Server/IIS
• At least 1 year of experience with Git/GitHub version control
• At least 1 year of experience with accessibility, coding standards, and best practices
• At least 1 year of experience with troubleshooting and optimizing SQL queries and Drupal DB interactions
• Active Public Trust – High Risk, Tier 4 or Top Secret level clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Acquia Certified Drupal Developer (Expert/Senior-level)
• Experience with Azure GovCloud or other federal cloud environments
• Familiarity with Drupal caching, performance tools, and automation
Location: This role allows for remote work but there is a chance for occasional time in office for critical/collaborative initiatives. The office location is in Washington, DC and is Metro and rail (Union Station) accessible.
