Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Engineer - Level 4 / Sr Principal Software Engineer Integrator to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Located in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is crucial in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide any relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote work options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a key operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission goals.
C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to enhance overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a critical part of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
The position requires prior experience integrating separate software components into a single system and strong technical skills.

Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Essential Functions:
- Implement, update, and maintain the C2BMC Automation pipeline to enable automated C2BMC scenario execution without operator intervention
- Installation and configuration of Linux and Windows hardware platforms from the operating system to the C2BMC developed applications
- Document and verify all installation and configuration steps, then include them in the documentation to be provided to the customer
- Create installation scripts to automate system setup
- Develop test plans and procedures for automated software integration tests, and be responsible for integration and execution, detailed data analysis, and the preparation of software test reports
- Coordinate the execution of automated and manual software integration tests to verify system operation
- Collaborate with software developers as needed to diagnose and identify the root cause of problems encountered during software integration, and submit problem reports for any errors found
- Responsible for executing all Information Assurance directives on the systems, including conducting IA scans
- Lead, manage, and coordinate daily integration activities with other local team members
- Some non-standard work hours are possible intermittently
Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience, or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
- Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAM Level II or higher (such as Security+, CGRC, CASP, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), CCISO, etc.) at the time of application. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
- Willing to travel up to 10% for business, including support for installation and checkout at customer sites
- Must have experience with Linux Command Line
- Experience integrating applications across Windows and Unix/Linux platforms
- Experience with Information Assurance policies and procedures, and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system
- Experience with scripting and programming languages such as:
- PowerShell
- Bash
- Python
- Java, including developing, debugging, and maintaining
- Experience in creating automated installation scripts
- Use of the Git Version Control System
- Capable of writing clear and concise system installation and configuration instructions, with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with software developers, system administrators, and analysis and test engineers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and automated testing tools
- Experience with VMWare is highly preferred
- Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code
- Familiarity with Java and object-oriented development is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
- Knowledge/expertise in the C2BMC concept of operations and user interface
- Experience with integrating mission systems into simulation frameworks is a plus
- Experience in programming concepts
- Experience in writing installation manuals
