Description:
You will be the FPGA Design Lead for Lockheed Martin's Missile and Fire Control team. Our group designs, simulates, and integrates cutting edge datalink and launcher systems that keep our warfighters ahead of emerging threats.

What You Will Be Doing
As the FPGA Design Lead you will steer the architecture, development, and sustainment of FPGA solutions that power both existing and next generation missile datalinks. You will work closely with multiple engineering disciplines to translate system requirements into robust, quick turnaround FPGA implementations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Defining and documenting the FPGA development roadmap, including design capture, simulation, integration, validation, and long term sustainment.
• Leading FPGA architecture decisions and selecting appropriate peripheral interfaces (e.g., IC, SPI, PCIe, DDR SDRAM, Ethernet).
• Creating and reviewing RTL code, testbenches, and simulations using tools such as UVM, Vivado/ISE, and AMD/Xilinx device families.
• Managing version control, configuration management, and build pipelines in GitLab.
• Coordinating daily with hardware, software, systems, and test teams to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery.
• Overseeing verification and validation activities, including hardware in the loop testing and performance benchmarking.
• Mentoring junior engineers, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture, and promoting knowledge sharing practices.
• Driving continuous improvement of design processes, documentation standards, and risk mitigation strategies.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to maintain a secret clearance. An active Secret Clearance with most recent investigation in the last 5 years is required to start.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
- HDL programming experience with VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog
- Experience in Hardware-Software Integration and Validation
- Familiarity with FPGA toolsets (Libero, Vivado, and Vitis strongly preferred)
- Experience with electronics design and troubleshooting activities
- Experience with complex subsystem interfaces using PCIe, Ethernet, etc.
- Active Secret Clearance with most recent investigation in the last 5 years
Desired Skills:
- Experience with management of Configuration Control (GitLab preferred)
-Team and Design lead experience
- Experience with AMD Design toolsets
- Experience with UVM
- Experience working with Secure Boot
- Experience with C/C++ programming
- Experience with troubleshooting and debugging with board-level testing and FPGA validation
- Experience in ASIC / FPGA life cycle (architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration & test)
- Comfortable using digital oscilloscopes, power meters, and other test equipment
- Experience with Simulink and HDL Coder
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
