Linux Engineer

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers in support of America's warfighters, is looking for an experienced Linux Engineer to join our team in Charleston, SC.

You Will:

• Provide knowledge in systems engineering and information technology as it relates to Service and Systems Management
• Provide technical knowledge to support and maintain Linux systems
• Investigate and resolve issues that span multiple applications/technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple groups
• Develop solutions to solve problems and implement enhancements
• Provide technical knowledge to support and maintain IT enterprise products
• Integrate COTS and GOTS software into CANES baselines
• Provide technical knowledge to design systems that monitor and manage CANES baselines
• Provide knowledge in systems engineering and information technology
• Develop and/or revise system designs and architectures to improve efficiency, stability, effectiveness, supportability, and sustainability
• Provide feedback on internal processes and recommendations for improvement
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related taskings as directed
• Provide technical knowledge to design systems that monitor and manage DoD systems
• Prepare technical briefs to present to engineering review teams
• Install test branches on physical hardware on lab equipment as first level integration tests
• Verify install documentation is executable

You Have:

• US Citizenship
• Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or ability to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire date
• DoD 81408570 Certifications as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II
• 4+ years' experience in a systems engineer role overseeing complex IT infrastructure
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux system development, integration, and testing
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite and YUM
• Experience securing Red Hat products in accordance with DoD standards
• Experience with programming/scripting languages
• Ability to effectively install, configure, and administer in a multi-system and/or multi-application environment
• Ability to automate the installation and configuration of applications and services
• Working knowledge and experience with Agile framework and Scrum
• Knowledge of Linux/Windows OS and networking from a system design perspective
• Ability to create and test virtualized environments (VMWare, OpenShift, Hyper-V, AWS)
• Strong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of users, engineers, managers, and organizations
• Ability to work with others in a highly collaborative environment
• Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality
• Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities

We'd be Impressed if You Had:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
• 8+ years' experience in systems engineering
• Demonstrated experience with:
  • Git, GitLab, GitLab Pipelines, Artifactory, Confluence and Jira
  • Ansible development (Inventories, Collections, Roles, Modules, Playbooks, etc.)
  • Programming/scripting languages (Bash/Python/PowerShell/HTML/etc)
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite development, integration, and test
  • Experience with container technologies (OpenShift/Docker/Podman)
  • Integrated development environment (IDE, Visual Studio Code) for GIT management and code revision
  • Experience with IT monitoring solutions ie: MS Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Solarwinds, ManageEngine, Dynatrace
  • Experience with Configuration Management and Asset Compliance solutions ie: MS Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECMSCCM)
  • Experience with Ticketing and Help Desk solutions
  • Test Driven Development
  • VMware virtual infrastructure
  • Linux administration and BASH scripting
  • network device configuration and automation
• Knowledge of Data Science pipelines
• Certifications:
  • Red Hat certification (i.e. RHCSA, RHCE, etc.)
  • ScrumAgile
  • Microsoft
  • CISSP, SANS, ITIL
