Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform as the single point of contact for a wide variety of official trips in support of Command objectives. Incumbent must manage, coordinate, and integrate all arrangements required for official travel of the Director of Operations, Air Mobility Command (AMC), and accompanying staff. Additionally, position is required to oversee large subordinate administrative staff on all administrative policies, guidelines, and operations within the directorate. This position is located in a multilayered organization, with subordinate groups that differ from each other in terms of subject matter, functions, relationships with other organizations, and administrative requirements.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, principles, precedents, practices, procedures, doctrine, tradition. customs, goals, and current issues of Air Mobility Command as well as the United States Agency in order to efficiently and effectively evaluate, manage, coordinate, and integrate all staff actions necessary for official travel; Knowledge of organizations and force structure of Air Mobility Command and the United States Agency in order to assemble information from a large number of sources to prepare the AMC/A3 for official travel; Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of AMC program operations; Knowledge of the organizations, programs, mission, and functions of AMC and the United States Agency with foreign governments and their military departments in order to effect arrangements for foreign visits.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Knowledge of regulations, pertinent laws. standards, guidelines. policies, principles, precedents, practices, procedures, doctrine, tradition, customs, goals, and current issues of Air Mobility Command as well as the United States Air Force as a whole, to effectively manage, coordinate, and integrate all staff actions associated with official trips. Knowledge of practices, policies, and procedures to develop the budget for official trips and associated travel arrangements, prepare travel and pay vouchers, and produce periodic reports. Skill in written and oral communications principles, methods, and techniques. Knowledge and general understanding of Air Force, DoD, Major Commands, and military traditions, customs, and goals to interact with internal and external organizations. Skill in applying analytical techniques to gather, analyze, and evaluate a variety of information to draw conclusions and construct appropriate solutions to problems. Knowledge of protocol and etiquette standards and procedures, both foreign and within the United States government, to include all branches of the United States Armed Forces. Skill in gaining cooperation from others using tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. Knowledge of policies and procedures to accurately document all official trips for AMC''''s historical files and other staff agencies. Ability to use correspondence rules and regulations to prepare and/or edit written correspondence, ensuring proper use of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Skill in using office automation tools and techniques to support office operations. Must be a fully qualified typist. Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Duties:
- Acts as the single focal point for all official travel by the Director of Operations, Air Mobility Command.
- Prepares AMC/A3 and entourage for each trip or appearance based on input from the staff and exercises exclusive control over supervisor's calendar.
- Receives telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits.
- Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files and other sources.
