About the Opportunity
Strategic Technology Institute at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to support enterprise-level Information Technology (IT) operations, data management, and digital transformation initiatives. This role will help modernize, standardize, and automate IT and Information Management (IM) processes across NSWCDD’s classified and unclassified environments, enabling the command to deliver cutting-edge warfare systems that support the U.S. Navy’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data warehousing and integration solutions to support NSWCDD’s IT operations and decision-making.
Perform requirements analysis and develop logical data models, data interface specifications, and structured query language (SQL) scripts.
Design and document online query and reporting specifications to improve operational data access and insight.
Define and implement data loading and validation procedures to ensure accuracy, performance, and compliance.
Support development of data structures, data migration and conversion processes, and data knowledge acquisition.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to integrate data across systems, including ERP, financial, HR, and Working Capital Fund systems.
Analyze existing data sources to identify optimization, automation, and standardization opportunities aligned with NSWCDD’s IT Service Management (ITSM) goals.
Contribute to modernization initiatives that enable scalable, secure, and agile data environments supporting mission-critical systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
Minimum 6 years of professional experience in data analysis, design, and development related to data warehousing and integration.
Demonstrated expertise in SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
Experience with requirements definition, application design, and data integration across enterprise environments.
Knowledge of data warehouse development and design principles, including ETL, data quality, and metadata management.
Familiarity with financial, ERP, or HR systems and data structures in government or large enterprise settings.
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or NSWCDD environments.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms.
Working knowledge of ITSM principles, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with Navy Working Capital Fund (WCF) processes and data systems.
