Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking a Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to provide leadership to our Safety & Mission Assurance Teams working in our Buffalo NY offices.

The Mission Assurance Engineer is responsible to focus on developing, establishing and maintaining Mission Assurance policies and procedures, processes and controls thereby ensuring both performance and quality of manufactured products conform to established company, international (AS9100), and governmental requirements, as well as lasting customer satisfaction. This role will support the CEESIM product line:
The ideal candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, proven technical aptitude, the ability to problem solve complex technical issues, and proven ability to multi-task (i.e. manage several projects at one time).

Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

This role will support the CEESIM product line:
- Establish and maintain Quality Assurance programs, procedures and controls ensuring that products and services conform to company standards of excellence.
- Interpret customer technical and Quality and Mission Assurance requirements, and ensure these requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications and product drawings.
- Ensure program contract requirements are flowed down internally to the production floor and extern Analyze and interpret trends and execute improvements using data from key metrics.
- Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis, and problem-solving activities on program-specific, quality system and business system deficiencies.
- Ensure program contract requirements are flowed down internally to the production floor.
- Represent Quality and Mission Assurance at various program reviews and review boards including but not limited to Configuration Control Board (CCB), Material Review Board (MRB), Program Management Reviews (PMR), design/peer reviews, Manufacturing/Test/Delivery Readiness Reviews (MRR/TRR/DRR) and Corrective Action Board (CAB).
- Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements and specifications of the product as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls, metrics, and quality inspections.
- Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, AS9100 requirements and internal policies/procedures.
- Work directly with cross functional teams to ensure that inspections, work product inspections, design reviews, risk reduction, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing.

Basic Qualifications for the Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or equivalent STEM discipline with 8 years of experience.; 6 years of experience with Masters;
- Experience in a Quality or Manufacturing role.
- Experience working in an environment with a certified Quality Management System.
- Experience and/or technical knowledge in quality specifications and standards.
- Experience in basic problem methodologies.
- Experience in data extraction from multiple tool sets and to create analytics tools and reports.
- Experience with MS Office Applications especially Excel, Word, Power Point.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an electronics assembly manufacturing environment.
- Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 environment and internal auditing.
- Experience working with government contract requirements; FARS and DFARS.
- Experience reviewing and approving engineering changes, deliverable documentation, process changes, in accordance with documented processes and procedures, etc.
- Experience supporting the cost estimating and proposal process; developing and maintaining standards, BoEs, etc.
- Experience working with Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) Standards and Publications (e.g., IPC 610, J-STD 001, etc.)
- Certification or experience in Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
- AS9102 First Article Inspection experience.
- GD&T experience.
- E xperience with Tableau, Power Apps, or Power BI
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance
