Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Project Leader (Telecommunications) to support a company focused on developing large data centers throughout the Southern Virginia region. This is an on-site opportunity focused on various sites in Boydton, South Hill, and Charles City, Virginia. The Project Leader will act as the over arching PM, managing and mentoring various Deputy Project Leads, Superintendents, and Foremen as they construct an OSP/ISP Telecom Data Center. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong experience with program management focused around project estimation, budgeting, scheduling, and engineering.
Responsibilities for the Project Leader include:
• Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project or similar tools, define critical path, predecessors, and resource loading, and prepare 4-week look-ahead schedules and update regularly
• Create and manage project budgets, including labor, materials, and indirect costs, perform cost estimating and take-offs for new RFPs, and monitor financial health of projects and implement mitigation strategies when needed
• Lead and mentor project teams, including junior staff and field personnel; ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and reduce ramp-up time by providing guidance on scheduling and budgeting
• Source, onboard, and manage subcontractors; Negotiate change orders and resolve issues promptly; Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Ensure compliance with TIA/EIA, NEC, and other relevant standards; Understand basic fiber and copper infrastructure requirements; Track design changes and comments during reviews

Required Qualifications for the Project Leader include:
- 7+ years of experience in Project Management - preferably focused on ISP/OSP or Telecommunications initiatives
- Experience with estimation, scheduling, budgeting, and full cradle to grave project implementation
- Experience with tools including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Excel, MS Project, Primavera, Jira, Accubid, or related technologies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Construction Management, or related field.
Required Qualifications for the Project Leader include:
- Salary Range: $120,000-$145,000 depending on experience
