Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an AI Engineer to support a major defense aviation modernization program focused on advancing the intelligence, readiness, and lifespan of next-generation aircraft systems. This position is based onsite in Cambridge, MA, where engineers collaborate across disciplines to design, train, and deploy AI-driven solutions supporting critical mission systems. You'll work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and national defense—building technology that redefines the limits of aerospace innovation.
An active Secret Clearance is highly preferred.

Responsibilities of the AI Engineer:
- Design, develop, and implement AI algorithms using frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets for model development.
- Evaluate and optimize model accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional data, systems, and software engineering teams.
- Monitor and refine deployed AI models across production environments.
- Document development processes and support code validation and compliance reviews.
- Research and apply emerging AI methods to aerospace and defense applications.
Qualifications for the AI Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree + 3 years of experience, or Master's + 1 year, or Ph.D.
- Strong experience in Python and C/C++, with familiarity in TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Background in machine learning model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Must work onsite in Cambridge, MA .
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (not required to start).
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 *Depending on years of experience*
