The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. What You Will Do
- Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for cutting-edge satellite ground systems.
- Work with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.
What You Will Learn
- A breadth of advanced software technologies and techniques including multi-tiered architectures, AWS web services, and microservice software design.
- Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.
- Software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense projects.
- Satellite ground system technologies including command & telemetry, flight dynamics, planning, and scheduling, and spacecraft operations.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior, relevant software engineering experience.
- Experience developing object-oriented software using Java.
- Experience developing software in a Linux environment.
- Experience with containerization (i.e., Kubernetes).
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.

Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience developing software using C++, rust, and Python.
- Experience using Agile methodology.
- Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, vehicle planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics.
- Experience with software integration, cloud architecture, infrastructure/platform as a service, microservices, and web-based systems.
- Experience with AMMP, Cucumber, GIT, Khaos, Oracle, Postgres, SonarQube, Weblogic, WIGS/Angular.
- Experience with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.
