MTSI is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical, mission assurance, and systems engineering support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in system integration, test and evaluation, mission assurance, and engineering design reviews across complex defense systems. This role will directly support MDA's Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) and Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) programs, ensuring technical rigor and mission success across the program lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the Kill Vehicle (KV) and Mission Support Vehicle (MSV) Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), with focus areas including Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), Star Trackers, avionics, communications, telemetry, and flight termination systems.
- Evaluate contractor design documentation, technical baselines, and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables for compliance with system requirements.
- Provide mission assurance, quality, and safety support to ensure program adherence to the MDA Assurance Provisions (MAP), Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMAP), and other technical standards.
- Participate in Failure Review Boards (FRB), Design Reviews (PDR, CDR), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) to assess system performance and identify risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and review test plans, test procedures, and environmental qualification testing for flight hardware.
- Lead and coordinate interagency and contractor working groups, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and review boards to address system-level issues and ensure technical alignment.
- Provide technical recommendations and analyses supporting trade studies, risk assessments, and design change proposals.
- Support range and launch operations at domestic and international test facilities, including WSMR, PMRF, RTS, and VAFB.
- Contribute to policy and process improvement initiatives across the MDA Quality, Safety, and Mission Assurance (QSMA) community, including authorship of technical advisories and procedural documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree with 20+ years of experience in systems engineering, test and evaluation, or mission assurance in support of DoD or MDA programs.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex missile defense systems, including flight and ground test programs.
- Proven track record of leadership in technical analysis, requirements verification, and system integration.
- Working knowledge of MDA Assurance Provisions (MAP) and associated mission assurance frameworks.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, with ability to lead discussions across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related engineering tools.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting MDA Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) or Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) programs.
- Familiarity with NASA, SMDC, or BMDO test and evaluation environments.
- IPC certifications (A-600, A-610, A-620) or equivalent mission assurance credentials.
- Experience authoring MDA technical documentation, policies, or advisories.
- Launch operations or range safety experience across major test sites.
