A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do
Review existing equipment and manufacturing build protocols to fully understand mechanical and electrical systems.
Evaluate OEM standards and establish preventative maintenance (PM) procedures to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
Recommend spare parts and maintenance strategies to support continuous 24/7 operations.
Develop and implement machine monitoring strategies using vibration, temperature, and performance data to predict and prevent failures.
Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime.
Track and report Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across assigned machinery and systems.
Support plant operations by developing standard specifications for future equipment purchases.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment functionality, supporting maintenance teams with troubleshooting and technical guidance.
Prepare technical presentations and reliability reports for leadership review and operational planning.
Work independently to identify performance trends, propose system enhancements, and support facility growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Reliability Engineer – Level 2
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
Minimum 2 years of experience in Reliability, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, or related engineering field
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
Ability Secret Security Clearance
Eligibility for Special Program Access
Principal Reliability Engineer – Level 3
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of experience, or
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of experience, or
PhD in a STEM discipline with 1+ year of experience
Demonstrated expertise in industrial automated equipment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
Active Secret Security Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
Core Competencies for Success
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present technical data clearly
Proven capability to make fast, data-informed decisions under limited information
Skilled in conflict resolution, time management, and multitasking
Proficient in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and PFMEA analysis
Hands-on experience driving reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives
Analytical proficiency in Excel and database-driven reliability analysis
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and support leadership at all levels
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Reliability, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
Experience with Industrial IoT technologies and Facility Maintenance Management Systems (FMMS)
Experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining industrial automated equipment
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, and Indramat control systems
Experience using predictive maintenance tools such as vibration or thermographic monitoring
Working knowledge of Reliability Engineering methodologies and statistical process analysis
