As a Principal Engineering Modernization Manager, you'll lead transformative initiatives for IT engineering and infrastructure in support of a large government enterprise contract. You'll drive the modernization of legacy systems, processes, and architectures to enhance agility, security, and efficiency, aligning with federal standards like NIST, FISMA, and ITIL 4 practices. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading engineering modernization efforts, overseeing the application of architectural frameworks, and coordinating cross-functional teams to implement modernization projects.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of experience in engineering management, with a focus on system modernization, architecture, and process transformation in government or large enterprise settings
- Proven track record leading IT modernization projects, including assessments, roadmapping, and implementation in regulated environments
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
- Strong knowledge of federal IT standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA) and ITIL 4 practices for service design and improvement
- Proficiency in architectural modeling tools and frameworks for enterprise systems
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills for stakeholder engagement and team coordination
- Applies extensive expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines, with the ability to exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

- ITIL 4 Foundation certification
- Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) certification or equivalent enterprise architecture credential
- Experience supporting DoD or large federal engineering modernization, including hybrid cloud migrations and DevSecOps integrations
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
- Background in emerging technologies (e.g., containerization, microservices) and tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect or Cameo Systems Modeler
- Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., Certified Enterprise Architect - TOGAF)
