As a Principal Configuration Manager, you'll provide comprehensive configuration management in accordance with ITIL 4 standards, DoD Army directives (e.g., AR 25-2), and broader government guidance, ensuring accurate tracking of configuration items (CIs) to enable reliable service operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include capturing and maintaining detailed attributes and relationships of configuration items, maintaining and optimizing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and developing and enforcing configuration control processes.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of experience in configuration management, with hands-on expertise in ITIL-aligned CMDB maintenance and CI governance in large enterprise or government settings
- Proven track record capturing and maintaining CI attributes/relationships to support IT service delivery, including integration with ITSM platforms
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
- Strong knowledge of ITIL 4 practices (particularly Configuration Management), DoD Army directives (e.g., AR 25-2), and federal guidance for IT asset management
- Proficiency in CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Atrium) and data modeling for complex relationships
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills for audit preparation and stakeholder coordination
- Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness

- Certified Warranty Administrator (CWA) certification
- Experience supporting DoD Army or large federal contracts, including CMDB audits and compliance with RMF or DISA standards
- ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) certification, with focus on service configuration and continual improvement
- Background in automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell, JavaScript) for CMDB data management and reporting
- Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT - CGEIT)
