Description

SAIC is seeking an Advanced CAD Designer to join our team in Panama City Beach, Florida.

You will be working in a dynamic environment at our Holley Engineering and Integration Center and on base at NSWC PCD. You will be supporting multiple Navy projects of various scales. You will hone your teamwork skills and gain engineering experience rapidly.

As an engineering team member, you will:
  • Develop and maintain drawings and technical documents.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, drafters, technical staff, and technical writers.
  • Collaborate on maintenance of drawing and modeling standards and styles.
  • Assist in setup and maintenance of Solidworks PDM server.
  • Understand and use military and/or commercial specifications in development of drawings and work instructions.
  • Understand and use GDT principles in producing model and drawing content.
  • Assist Engineering staff with mechanical stress/strain studies.
  • Work with Quality Assurance and Logistics Teams in development of drawings and to identify manufacturing discrepancies to ensure that drawings contain information required by customer.
  • Manage development of drawings and technical documentation. This will require direction and collaboration of engineering staff, technicians, and tech writers to develop documentation views and text detailing installation of various systems.
  • Participate in weekly/biweekly meetings and effectively communicate project status to stakeholders. Ability to work well within a fast paced, team environment.
  • Participate in various formal and informal design and model reviews.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years or more of experience. Additional years' experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of CAD software. The primary CAD tools used on this project is Solidworks, Solidworks PDM and associated products. CREO and Autodesk products are also used for some work.
  • CSWP and additional CSWP certification in Sheet Metal (-SM), Weldments (-WD), and Drawing Tools (-DT).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with Solidworks or other FEA tools.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Interim Secret required to start. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for a security clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, data tables, string manipulation, etc.)
  • Military design and drawing experience.
  • Machining, welding and other fabrication experience.
  • Windchill and JIRA experience.
  • CMPro experience.
