Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Post - Access Control in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more .

Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling entry points, helping to deter unauthorized access, and maintaining a visible presence to support a secure environment. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, interact with visitors and employees, and provide exceptional customer service while addressing security-related concerns. Your ability to communicate clearly and respond thoughtfully to situations will be key in helping to maintain order and support our client's operations. This position requires a valid driver's license, as you may be responsible for patrolling areas that require vehicle access. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Control access to the location by verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises, in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activities.
• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by responding to questions and offering assistance as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter security-related risks.
• Maintain detailed records of activities, incidents, and observations during each shift.
• Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related concerns specific to a tech and media environment.
• Follow emergency response protocols as outlined for the location, including communication and coordination with first responders when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Willingness to work at locations with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
• A valid driver's license in the job state is required for driving positions only.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
