As a Armed Security Officer - Government Site - Full Time in Largo, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .
As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed and driving post, requiring you to be prepared to operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties and to carry a firearm in accordance with all applicable regulations. You will interact with staff and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the values of integrity, teamwork, and reliability that define Allied Universal. What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor for suspicious behavior and report any security-related concerns or incidents according to established protocols.
- Interact professionally with visitors, staff, and/or members of the public while upholding site-specific requirements.
- Assist law enforcement or emergency personnel as directed during incidents or emergencies.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, incidents, and/or observations during each shift.
What We're Looking For:
- Availability across various days and shifts
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
- Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or possess an equivalent qualification. This requirement may be completed post hire if not already met.
- Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver's license in the state where the job is located and meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
